1899 Aged 25 and living at Little Colclough, working as a miner, when he married Ellen Greenway, 27 of Church Street. His father was John Knott and hers William Greenway. John Knott is a gardener and William Greenway a miner. The witnesses were William Greenway and Isabella Thereas Knott.

1901 Aged 27, living at 4 John Street, Goldenhill with his wife Ellen, 29 from wooton Bassett, Wiltshire. He is a stone miner (hewer). They have a one year old daughter Mary E, born in Goldenhill.

1911 Albert and his wife are now living at 47 Holly Place, Fenton, Staffordshire with their three children Mary Ellen, Sarah Jane and Gladys May. He is now a coal miner. With them are William Greenway, 72 a retired blast furnace worker from Wooton Bassett and Sarah Anna Greenway 70, from Wooton Bassset. They are described as boarders but are likely to be Ellen's parents. The elder couple have been married for 51 years, had nine children five of whom have died. The younger couple have been married 12 years and only had the three children still living with them.

1939 Register Albert and Ellen are still living at 47 Holly Place. Their daughter Sarah Jane is living with them. She is described as incapacitated.

1941 Albert died aged 68
