IGI (Asia) entry for Amelia Jenour, chr 23 Aug 1818 Meerut, West Bengal, India (almost certainly the same Amelia even though she gives her brith place as Cawnpore) 1841 living with father Thomas and brother, Constantine 1861 shows two spinster ladies Amelia and Eliza Issabella Jenour aged 42 and 44 respectivel in Ardwick, both born in Cawnpore (Kanpur) East India. (RG9/2870/60) These are almost certainly sisters of Sophie. (RG9/2870) 1871 Living as a boarder at 30 Renshaw Street, Hulme, Manchester - age given as 49 (should be 52) occupation "merino braider". RG10/3887 1881 Living at 14 Vine Steet, Hulme, Manchester, 61 year old spinster born Cawnpore, India, of independent means. Living with her are three borders, young men in their twenties (Difficult to read). Class: RG11; Piece: 3927; Folio: 51; Page: 9; GSU roll: 1341938 1891Aged 72, single, living at 118 Margaret Street, Ardwick, Chorlton, Manchester. Living on own means. Born Cawnpore, India (RG12/3172/121 p34) 1901 A n 82 year old Amelia, a single lady living on own means, born in India is boarding with Louise Hammond, 51 widow and her family at 22 Abbey Street, Manchester. The surname is difficult to read and has been transcribed as Quin, but it is possible that it could be Jenour. There are a number of entries in the Poor Rate book for Manchester for Amelia Jenour.
