1857 Richard Smith married Ann Jackson (presumably a widow) at Lincoln. BMD ref Lincoln 1857 Q1 7a 657.

1861 Aged 29 a bricklayer and plasterer living with his wife Ann 39 and three of her children from a previous marriage (Jackson) and two of their own children, Angelina 3 and Charles E Smith 7 months. The children were all born in Bardney, Lincolnshire where they are currently living. Richard gives his place of birth as Bassingham and Ann’s as Wragby, Lincolnshire. (RF9/2356/9 p11)

1871 Richard, age should be 39 but appears to be 29, is a builder employing 4 hands. Still with wife Ann and three children Betsey Ann Jackson (step daughter) and his own two Angelina 13 and Charles 10. (RG10/3367/31 p 17)
