1896 Married Richard Andrew C Mellor in Congleton, Cheshire during Q3 8A 506

1901, Aged 31 (Sarah Mellor) living at 17 William Terrace, Fegg Hayes with three children, Gladys 4, Collin 2 and Samuel 10 months. The children were all born in Fegg Hayes and Sarah in Tunstall. Although Sarah is identified as wife of the household head and still married, her husband is not recorded in the entry.

1911, Aged 41 living with her husband Richard A C Mellor (36, coal miner hewer) at Victoria Place, Miles Green Bignall End (Newcastle) Staffs. With them four sons. Their daughter Gladys was living with her maternal grandparents in Fegg Hayes. Of the sons William, 5, (born about 1905/6) had been born in Fegg Hayes but the youngest, Victor, 1, (born about 1909/10) was born at Miles Green. The two older sons, Collin 12 and Samuel 10 were attending school. Richard and Sarah had been married for 14 years and had had 7 children, two of whom had died. Their house had four rooms including kitchen but not bathroom and the declaration was signed by Sarah on behalf of her husband.

1921 Aged 52/5 living with her husband Richard, 47/4 a coal miner, and their children Samuel Peter 21/1 a collier's road man , William15/9 a haulage boy , Victor 12/1 , Gwyneth 10/1 and Leonard 6/2 at 26 King Willam Street, Tunstall. All the workers worked at Chatterley Whitfield.
