1841 Possible but not certain, 20 year old James living alone in Birmingham. Occupation iron works fitter

1842 James married Ann Ward at the Collegiate Church Wolverhampton. He gave his occupation as brass founder, the same as his father, identified only by his initial, J - possibly also James.

1843 Daughter Emma born. Baptised 21 Nov 1843 at St Peter's Wolverhampton. James was identified as Brass founder living in Petitt Street.

1846 Daughter Louisa born. Baptised 11 March 1846 at St Peter's Wolverhampton. The family is still living in Pettit Street and James is still working as a brass founder.

1851Living in Dudley Street, Walsall. Age 29, a brass furnaceman from Birmingham. Wife Ann, 31 from Compton (is this in Wolverhampton?), Staffordshire and their daughters Emma 7, Louisa 4 and Mary Ann 1, the older two born in Wolverhampton and the youngest in Walsall. (HO107/2023/565 p18)

1852 daughter Jemmima born: On daughter Jemima's birth certificate (June 1852) occupation is given as Chandelier Maker. Record of Jemima's christening on 4th July 1852 in St. Matthew, Walsall, parents James and Ann appears to fit. On the marriage certificate in1883 it is given as a brass dresser. James was dead before his daughter Jemima married J.A.Baker.

1861, now living in Yorkshire. Aged 40 and still a chandelier maker, place of birth given as Birmingham, Warwickshire. Wife Ann aged 44, place of birth Compton(?) Staffordshire,
Children: Emma 17 born in Wolverhampton, Louisa 13, born in Walsall, MaryAnn 12, Jemmima 10 both also born in Walsall and Matilda 3 born in Brightside Bierlow, Sheffield, Yorkshire.

1871 James aged 50, born Birmingham Warwickshire, working as a brass dresser, is living at Gower Street, Brightside Bierlow, Sheffield with his wife Ann 54 from Compton Staffordshire and their daughter Tillda (Matilda) aged 13 born in Yorkshire. RG10/4695/58 p13.

1881 James, aged 60, a brass fitter from Birmingham living with his wife Ann 64, from Compton and his daughter Matilda 21 at 96 (or 98) Lower Street, Brightside Brierlow, Sheffield Yorkshire. Matilda was born in Sheffield. (RG11/4662/63)

James died in Sheffield aged 60 in 1882
