IGI has confilcting entries one giving Henry's father as Robert, the other as Roger. Both have same dates for birth and christening. The parish entry itself names his father as Roger and his mother as Mary Horswell. DoB 13th January 1802, baptised 13th March 1802

1839 Birth certificate of son George gives Henry’s occupation as mason.

1841 churchwarden census: Henry (39) a mason and his wife Ann (38) are living in Monmouth Street, Topsham with their children Mary 18, Ann 16, James 10 Harriet 7, Sophie 5, George 2 and a 4mth old baby (name not givenbut likely to be Sarah)

1850 White's trade directory lists "Harswel, Hy" as a bricklayer.

1851 Henry 49, master bricklayer? mason and his wife Ann,48 living in Monmouth Street with their children: James, 20 mason's journeyman. Harriet 17, lace maker, Sophie 15, Lace maker, George 12, Sarah 9, scholar, Henry 7 and Emma 4 (Ho107/1866/35)

1871 Henry, now 69 is living in Monmouth Street, Topsham, Devon working as a mason. He is living with his wife Ann, 67 and a number of his children: all unmarried
Harriet 38, a care worker?, George 32, Henry 26 and Emma 24. Also living with them is Henry's brother Edward, aged 64 a widower also a mason as were all the sons. In the family account Harriet remained a spinster but George married Sarah Kidner, Emma later married Harry Gould and Henry married Martha Willicott. (RG10/2051/45 p9). All born in Topsham, Devon. 1877 Q1 5b 36 Death entry in the St Thomas district for Henry Horsewell, b 1802. Parish record of his burial on 18th March 1877 gives his age as 75.
The death notice posted in the Western Times 16th March 1877: Henry Horswell, March 13th, at Topsham, builder aged 74. Born on 13th Jan 1802 1802 he would have been 75 as stated in the burial record.
