Various dates & ages appearing in the census entries give suggest Joseph's date of birth is anywhere between 1797 and 1808. It appears that his wife was much older than he was and so there may have been some adjustments to their ages to make them seem more similar in age. If the proposed parents are correct then Joseph is at the younger end of the age rage suggested by the dates.

Joseph is identified as William Leming's father from the parish record of William's marriage to Eliza Banks and the parish records of baptisms show the baptism of a Willliam Liming at St Benedict Biscop, Womborne, father Joseph a labourer of Heath Lodge. Mother Elizabeth in 1829.

Census history
1841 Recorded in the census as Jospeh Lemon, 40 (40-44) an Agricultural Labourer at Heath, Wombourn with Elizabeth (not born in County) 50, and William 12 and John 10. This fits with the William born 1829 we are looking for and the consistency of location and unusual name in the area suggests it is the same family.

October 1849 - son's wedding - occupation gardener.

1851 Jospeh is a gardener iving at Heath House, Wombourn, age given as 43. With him is his wife Elizabeth from Worcestershire, age looks like 58 but could be 52. Writing unclear. (HO107/2017 page 25 (Wombourn, district 2b)

1861Living at Heath (Woodhouses?), Wombourne, Staffordshire, aged 55 Gardener Master. Birth place Wombourne. Living with wife Elizabeth aged 56, born Stanbury/Hanbury or possibly Banbury?, Worcestershire. (GRO RG9/1986). Elizabeth's age must be wrong on this census return, based on 1851 census and also her subsequent death certificate she must have been about 68.

1871 Living at Heath , Wombourne, Staffordshire aged 65, widowed. With him was his 13 year old granddaughter Alice. This is likely to be the daughter of WIlliam and Eliza Hannah. His birth place is given as Wombourne, Staffordshire and his occupation as gardener, unable to work. Alice was born at Cosley. (GRO RG10/2929)

Marriage
A Joseph Lemmon (who made his mark) married Elizabeth Herbert/Herbett at St Peters, Wolverhampton on 1st January 1827. Elizabeth signed her own name. The witnesses were Benjamin Lemmon (his mark) and John Biddulph (appears many time in the register and likely to be the clerk).

A Benjamin Lemmon married Maria Dains on 12th November 1826 at St Peter or Collegiate, Wolverhampton. Joseph was one of the witnesses. All three made their mark.
A 60-64 year old Benjamin Lemn was living with the Deeley in 1841, suggesting a birth about 1777-81. A Benjamin Lemon died in 1945 and was buried in Wombourn on 12 Dec 1841. Also Beniamin Liming (probably the same person) died 8 December 1845. According to the GRO index he was only 5 years old and from 1841 census it is believed that he was the son of Benjamin and Maria (birth registered 1840 Q2 Wolverhampton and Seisdon 17/398 mother Deans)

Death
Death of Jospeh Liming recorded Q4 1871 Wolverhampton 6b 359. Age at death about 67.
Death certificate confirms that Joseph Liming, a gardener, died on 6th October 1871 aged 67 at Heath Wombourn. The death was reported by William Liming, present at the death. He died after suffering from diseased heart for a year and dropsy for four months. William is likely to be his son who was living near by.

Burial
Joseph Leaming was burried 11 Oct 1871 St Benedict Biscop, aged 67 (born about 1804, although transcribed on Findmypast as 1834, so maybe someone read age as 37) See parish record entry 353.

Possible parents
Possible parents for Joseph are John and Ann Liming (or Lemon), see notes attached to John and Ann, baptised 23 Oct 1808, although this is later than might have been expected. Also according to another family tree, the Joseph Lemon baprised in 1808 died in 1811.

Any relation?
Also in parish registers on same page as burial of Joseph Leaming is entry for Charles Liming of Wombourn, 10th Dec 1871 aged 1 year. A Charles Lemming, son of George and Harriet was baptised in Wombourn St Benedict Biscop on 29 March 1871. If Ann Marlow and John Leming or Lemon are Joseph's parents, George is probably his brother.

A further Joseph Liming died in 1846, registered Wolverhampton, Q4 17 286. Any relation? Brother of John born in 1787?

See also John LEEMING Buried 16 Oct 1826 Aged 42 Status – Abode – Occupation – Extras – Location Stafford, STS - (born about 1784) - is there any connection.

Lemon?
The Leming name appears to change over time and it is possible it may have been misrecorded, so also of possible interest are:
John Lemon, of Wombourn, son of John and Ann was christened at St Benedict’s on Jan 30th 1814 (entry 57).

Joseph, son of John and Ann Lemon, baptised 23rd October 1808 (could this be the Joseph we are looking for?) - The Ann and John found in the 1851 census would be too young to be parents of son born in 1808 unless ages in 1851 census are wrong - which seems to be the case from other census entries and also the ages at death.

A John Lemon died in 1857 in Wolverhampton district. He was aged 74, giving estimated dob of 1783 (1857 Q2 Wolverhampton 6b/260) - he would have been old enough to be Joseph's father.
