One possible father of Thomas Hallows (IGI C049631 1813 - 1872 0497379) , despite the different spelling based on date and location, but does not fit with all the evidence. However, Thomas's father was named William and was a farmer (ref from Thomas's marriage certificate). Thomas was living in West Derby when he married. Did he moved there alone or with his family? Two postential death registrations: HALLOWS, WILLIAM 60 Most likely baptism was on 27 May 1876 in Bakewell, parents Robert and Hannah Hallows, Rolland (Rowland as in the marriage record?) - is this where they lived? 1821 William Hallows married Phoebe Beresford on 11 June 1821 in Bakewell, both made their mark. The witnesses were George Roberts and Ralph Bradbury. (Note several other marriages on the same page were witnesses by Samuel Bradbury, maybe they were parish clerks). 1841 See son Thomas 1851 William Hallows, 54 widowed, a labourer born in Derbyshire, Darley, is living with his daughter Rachael 15 and son William 8 at New Street, Bakewell. Both children born in Bakewell. This adds weight to likelihood of the death registration for Pheby Hallows in 1848 being for his wife. |
