The name of a son of John and Sally West is Tatersdale and this is very similar to the second name of Isabelle's son James Tatersall Hollingworth and strengthens the connection between these parents and Isabelle.

Sally could be Sarah. There is a marriage record of a John West and Sarah Tattersal on 10 June 1799 in Bradford), but this is long before any of their children we know of were born. However, the subsequent census records show that father of Robert (1817) would have been old enough to marry in 1799 - his dob estimated to be about 1780.

On baptism entry for Bella West, 11 April 1813, Bradford, John of Shipley is described as a scribler. This is an old occupation of roughly carding wool before it is spun or the description of someone who attends a wool or cotton combing machine.

Also John's grandaughter Eliza Ann, aged 9 and a lodger John Pedley, 21and unmarried, a woolcomber from Burnley. HO107/2312/80 page 6. This also matches parish records for siblings of Isabelle. Robert was born in about November 1817 (which would make him 33-34)

1861 - John West aged 81widowed, head of household, of Shipley, a stone breaker living at Nell Croft Street, Shipley, Yorkshire with son Robert aged 42 an out door labourer (married but wife not present), granddaughter Eliza Ann, 19 a housemaid and grandson John H, 8 a scholar, all born in Shipley. Looking for parents of John West. Parish record from Baildon, Yorkshire which is very close to Shipley of christening of John West 16th April 1780 (IGI P011901). Father Henry West, no mother identified. On same index and with father Henry, also Matty, 8th March 1778 and Salley 4th April 1784.

Henry West married Mercy Waterhouse on 11th May 1777 Bradford, Yorkshire, England IGI M107657 - could these be John's parents.

Parish record shows christening of Mercy West to father John West in Bradford on 19 OCT 1806 (IGI K107659 ) - likely that this John is the son of Henry and Mercy, but is it the same as the father of Isabelle? Other Wests with father John on the same index do not help - two are so close they suggest that there are (unsurprisingly) several John Wests!!!
