Possible birth registration: Leek 1848 Q3 v17 p66 1851 -1861 See Samuel Turner aka Wakefield 1881: Aged 32, a coal miner, born Ladderidge, living at 9 Chester Street, Shelton with his wife Sarah, 27 born Hanley, and their children Mary 7, Elizabeth 6, and Jane 2 all born in Hanley. They also had a lodger, 18 year old Albert Chapman a tailor-four from Halifax, Yorkshire. (RG11/2726/139) Marriage registrations show that a Henry Turner married a Sarah Kirkham or Elizabeth Salt in Stoke-on-Trent in Q4 1873 6b/468 and that a Henry Turner married a Sarah Fallows or Louisa Hanley in Wolstanton in Q4 1876 6b/191. The birth registration of their daighter Mary shows that her mother's maiden name was Kirkham 1891 Henry 43 and his wife Sarah 37 had moved to the Brew House Bank, Rookery at Newchapel. Their daughter Elizabeth, 16 was still living with them. |
